Window Seat Guide
Left or right? What you can see from your window, and when.
For Passengers
Open in AVIOCONTROL APPSWhat it does
Works out offline what you may see on each side of the aircraft, minute by minute: more than 2 400 peaks, cities, islands and sights and 1 200 mountain ranges, islands, lakes and deserts from the Natural Earth map, in daylight or as city lights at night. Shows where the sun will be, sunrise and sunset, recommends a side with the window seat letter for your aircraft, and on board tells you with GPS what is coming next.
Individual app: each person uses it with their own account; your data is private to you and saved to your account.
How to use it
- In My flight, type the From and To airports (city, airport or code) and choose them from the list, then enter the Date and the Departure (local time).
- Choose your Aircraft and what I prefer: the best view, avoiding the sun or seeing the sunrise or sunset. Enter the Flight time (h:mm) if you know it; otherwise it is estimated.
- Read the Recommendation for the side and window seat letter, then check Sun during the flight and What you may see on the left and right sides and on the route map.
- Tick Also show features in the dark if you want to see night features as well, and press Copy summary to paste the result into a message or note.
- Press Save this flight to keep it; open it again later from Saved flights with Open.
- On board, open On board and press Use GPS to see what is coming next on each side and in how many minutes. Press Stop GPS when you finish.
