Weight & Balance Refresher

Narrated refresher on aircraft weight and balance, with quiz and certificate.

What it does

Twenty narrated slides on datum, arm, moment, centre of gravity, %MAC, adding, removing and shifting mass, ballast, weighing and records (Part-66 Module 7.16), a CG calculator, a quiz and a certificate of completion.

Individual app: each person uses it with their own account; your data is private to you and saved to your account.

How to use it

  1. Open the Course tab and press play to start the narration. Move between slides with the arrows, by swiping or with the dots below the slides.
  2. Set Continue automatically and the Speed you prefer, and press Show transcript to read the narration of each slide.
  3. Practise in the CG calculator tab: press + Add item or Load the course example, enter each mass and arm, and add the LEMAC arm and MAC length to see the CG in % MAC.
  4. When you have seen all the slides, open the Quiz tab, answer every question and press Check my answers. Press Try again if you do not reach the pass mark.
  5. The quiz opens once every slide has been on screen for at least the normal length of its narration; if you speed up the narration, the next slide starts when that time is reached.
  6. Open Progress & certificate to see the slides viewed and your best score. Once complete, press Download certificate (PDF) (it carries the full name of your portal account), or Print certificate to print it.
  7. Press Print notes to print the course notes, and use Download backup (.json) to keep a copy of your progress.
