Tool Control
FOD and tool control shared by your whole organisation, with a tablet at each tool box.
For Part-145 Organisations · Stores and tool crib · Certifying staff · Licensed engineers
Open in AVIOCONTROL APPSWhat it does
One licence for your organisation: every tool taken out of a box is recorded against a work order and an aircraft, with the person's name and PIN, from a tablet next to each box or from any phone or computer — everyone sees the same boxes live. Calibration control blocks expired or undated tools, the tool check before release shows CLEAR or NOT CLEAR and is signed with PIN, and loans to and from other organisations, the full history, Excel and PDF are included.
Shared by your organisation: everyone works on the same tool boxes at the same time, from a tablet next to each box, from their phone or from a computer.
How to use it
- The owner buys the app and opens it: write the name of your organisation. The app shows the code of your organisation (Organisation tab).
- Each person who needs the app (stores, planners, quality, and one account for the tablets) creates an account in AVIOCONTROL APPS, opens Tool Control in the App Store and writes that code under 'Join your organisation'.
- In the Organisation tab, approve each request with a role: Admin (manages everything), Terminal (the account used on the tablets next to the boxes) or Viewer (read only, e.g. quality).
- Add your tool boxes and tools (Tools tab: one by one, or import a CSV list with the template). Write the calibration due date of each tool, or 'not required'. A tool that needs calibration and has no date cannot be issued.
- Add the people who take and return tools (People tab) with their first PIN, and mark who may sign the tool check before release.
- Open the work orders with the aircraft registration (Work orders tab).
- On each tablet: sign in with the Terminal account, open Tool Control, and in the Organisation tab (signed in as an administrator on that tablet once) register the tablet as the terminal of its box.
- At the box: choose the tool, press Take out, choose the work order, your name and type your PIN. When you bring it back press Return. If a tool cannot be found press Missing.
- Before the certificate of release: in Release check choose the work order. CLEAR means no tool is out on that work order or aircraft and no tool is missing anywhere. The certifying person signs with the PIN; the work order can be closed at the same time.
- Everything is recorded in History. Export to Excel and print the checks and the inventory as PDF.
