TCDS Refresher

Narrated refresher on type certificate data sheets, with quiz and certificate.

What it does

Nineteen narrated slides on type certificate data sheets: who issues them, what “IM” (imported) and the other letters of the number mean, EASA and FAA numbering, where to find the current issue, each section of the TCDS and how to use it in maintenance. Includes a TCDS number decoder, a quiz and a certificate of completion.

Individual app: each person uses it with their own account; your data is private to you and saved to your account.

How to use it

  1. Open the Course tab and press play to start the narration. Move between slides with the arrows, by swiping or with the dots below the slides.
  2. Set Continue automatically and the Speed you prefer, and press Show transcript to read the narration of each slide.
  3. Use the TCDS decoder tab to type an EASA TCDS number, or select one of the examples, and see what each part of the number means.
  4. When you have seen all the slides, open the Quiz tab, answer every question and press Check my answers. Press Try again if you do not reach the pass mark.
  5. The quiz opens once every slide has been on screen for at least the normal length of its narration; if you speed up the narration, the next slide starts when that time is reached.
  6. Open Progress & certificate to see the slides viewed and your best score. Once complete, press Download certificate (PDF) (it carries the full name of your portal account), or Print certificate to print it.
  7. Press Print notes to print the course notes, and use Download backup (.json) to keep a copy of your progress.
