Twenty-seven illustrated, narrated slides: the data path from sensors to the FDR and QAR, ARINC 717 frames and decoding, data download and wireless QAR, flight data monitoring (EASA ORO.AOC.130, FAA FOQA) with events, levels and protection of crews, helicopter HUMS and vibration health monitoring (SPA.HOFO.155, CS 29.1465, maintenance credit), and the maintenance tasks that keep the data chain working. Includes an FDM event lab, a quiz and a certificate of completion.
Individual app: each person uses it with their own account; your progress is saved to your account.
How to use it
- Open Course and press ▶ to play the narration; move between slides with ‹ and › or by swiping.
- Tick Continue automatically to go to the next slide when the narration ends, choose the Speed, and press Show transcript to read the narration.
- View every slide: the dots under the slides show which ones you have already seen.
- Open FDM event lab, choose a Parameter and change the low, medium and high thresholds to see how the example flights are classified.
- Open Quiz, answer all 12 questions and press Check my answers; press Try again for a new attempt. The pass mark is 80 %.
- The quiz opens once every slide has been on screen for at least the normal length of its narration; if you speed up the narration, the next slide starts when that time is reached.
- When all slides are viewed and the quiz is passed, open Progress & certificate, press Download certificate (PDF) (it carries the full name of your portal account), or Print certificate to print it.
- Press Print notes for a printed summary of the slides; use Download backup (.json) in Progress & certificate to keep a copy of your progress.
